Sara Gelao, University of Amsterdam

Sara Gelao is a Lecturer in Media and Culture at the University of Amsterdam, Department of Media Studies, where she teaches Cinema and Philosophy. Holding a background in Literature, Music and Performing Arts and a Research Master’s in Film Studies and New Media, her research interests revolve around experimental cinema and poetry as well as psycho-socio-technical dimensions of contemporary imagination, futurity and spirituality. She is now working on a paper that thinks with the question of the soul, AI(-generated images), and language. Recently, she has initiated a workgroup with the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA), Esoteric Media.
